Really excited about this week. Get to go play Michigan State. I’ve been there ‚Äì it’s a great atmosphere. I know our players and coaches are extremely excited. We had a tough loss last week against a really good Indiana team ‚Äì really trying to bounce back from that. My hat’s off to Michigan State, I’ve watched them on film. They’re playing the right way ‚Äì there’s a reason why they’re undefeated right now ‚Äì they’re doing it the right way for sure. We’ll have a big challenge ahead of us, but looking forward to that challenge. It should be a great game and great atmosphere.

On what he learned from the team’s performance against Indiana:

I think it was a great lesson for us last week with as close as we got that if we can put all the pieces together then we can really beat anybody. So, it’ll be great for us to go up there [to Michigan State] and try to get all the pieces together. Michigan State is a fantastic football team. If you turn on the film, man, they’ve got players allover the place. It’ll be great to see if we can get it all together this time and try to go get that win up there and it would be a great win for our team and our program for sure.

On how WKU’s difficult non-conference schedule will prepare them for C-USA play:

I think we’ve played a lot of high-quality opponents. Let me say this; our conference opener is against UTSA and they may be as good, if not better, than the teams we’ll have previously played in Army and Indiana and Michigan State. They’re a very good football team, so that’s going to be a great challenge as well. But, when you do play quality opponents, I do think it sharpens the knife. I do think it gets you ready for conference play. We have some really high-quality teams in this league ‚Äì but the teams we will have played previously will be as good, if not better ‚Äì so I do think we’ll be ready in that sense. But to answer your question, when we enter conference play, right off the bat we’ll have a tremendous challenge ahead of us as well.
