Louisiana Tech Bulldogs College Football Pregame Quote, 11/24/2020

Opponent: FIU Panthers

, Coach

On not having a football game since Oct. 31:

I’m in shock. I hate it. I’m disappointed, frustrated, angry and so many different words that you could put in. The range of emotions of not only myself but the football team, our fan base and everybody is going through right now. This is crazy stuff. We are probably, as a football team, as healthy as we have been physically and COVID-wise as we have been all year. What’s been frustrating for us is finding an opponent that’s as healthy as we are that is able to play right now. It just makes it really frustrating right now. This has been four weeks in a row now that we’ve been canceled. The first one happens and you say, ‚ÄòAlright, it’s okay. Shake it off. We’re going to be okay. Just hit the reset button and let’s go play next week.’ And then the next week, you’re like ‚ÄòOkay, let’s hit the reset button and do it again.’ And then you go through ULM and now FIU. It has just been really frustrating and now you have to see what’s on the clock. We can deal with what we know and that’s North Texas next week on a short week on Thursday. I know there’s a lot of conversations about trying to find a game with logistics, hotels, travel, personnel to be able to pull it off. There’s so many variables that go into this right now and I know how hard it is. That’s why of all the total games that have been canceled, I think only one has been put together the week of the game. It’s a very hard thing to put together. For us as a staff, we talked about, ‚ÄòLet’s open the North Texas folder. Let’s get on that and let’s start getting ready to play North Texas.’ That’s all we can do right now. It’s very frustrating right now, but we just have to hit the reset button and get ready to go again.
