Our defense takes pride in competing and being pointed to when we need something to happen. But guys just trust each other. Guys depend on each other. Guys believe each other. That’s something we took pride in. We look forward to four-quarter games, having a tough battle, playing our hardest, playing our best. The guys gave it their all today.

Learning from the playoff experience:

It’s been awesome, and I want to [credit] coach Franklin. He’s done his best job to keep us focused, keep us level-headed, keep us bought in. But I just think it was the way we competed every day in practice, the way we played every game. We just left it all out there and played for played for each other. We played for each other where we thought nobody could mess with us. Guys just all bought in. Guys sacrifice every day. I’ve seen guys sacrifice off the field for certain guys. For myself, I sacrifice off the field, on the field with certain guys.

Has it sunk in that it’s over?

It has sunk in a little bit. Man, I’m still taking it in. I’m still embracing my guys. I’m still trying to keep my guys level-headed. But, man, there‚Äôs still a lot to look forward to with these guys, learn from these guys and from this season and from this game. We will go back to the drawing board, see what we can learn from it. That’s really it. Shout out to Notre Dame: The better team today, and they got it done.
