Q. As a teammate, as a fellow nose tackle, what can you say about Sheldon Newton?

HERBERT GUMS: He has a big impact on this team. He just makes everybody come together and share our moments. He’s a brother to me for life. He’s just been there for me. He’s a good player.

Q. On the defensive line specifically, what have you seen from him [Sheldon Newton]?

HERBERT GUMS: I saw a lot of improvement from last year to this year. He just imposes his will every time he gets on the field. Nobody can stop him. The stuff he does on the field is amazing to players and fans.

Q. In the locker room, how does he [Sheldon Newton] carry himself in the locker room?

HERBERT GUMS: He’s funny. He just brings everybody together. Big laugh guy, funny person. He just wants people to be around him.

Q. What is it like to play in one of the most iconic football stadiums [State Farm Stadium]?

HERBERT GUMS: It’s amazing. Still can’t picture in my mind. It’s amazing to be here right now. We set this goal from fall camp, even spring to be in this moment. It’s just a dream come true.

Q. Looking at their running backs, what are your impressions of them and how do they compare?

HERBERT GUMS: They’re physical to tackle. We just got to get them down, because one guy is not going to take them down. We just got to make sure we wrap up.

Q. How do you compare Oregon, the common opponent? Have you watched the film?

HERBERT GUMS: We just got to play our game. We already prepared, but we just got to come in and do our job and everything. Go forward for that.
