Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Pregame Quote, 12/27/2023
Opponent: Missouri TigersTreveyon Henderson
Q. Are you playing Friday?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: I will be out there.
Q. What does it mean that a lot of these guys, the juniors, haven’t made their decision or are putting off their decision until after the game and also playing in the game?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: It means a lot. It speaks a lot to the players we have on this team. At the end of the day, everyone has got to do what’s best for them, also.
Q. What’s the push and pull in both directions? You said you haven’t made the decision yet. What’s the consideration on both sides?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: I’m really just leaning on God to lead me towards my destiny and what He has planned for me.
If I use my own understanding, I don’t know which way to go. So that’s why I lean on God, my Father. He will lead me exactly where I need to be.
Q. Have you felt even more like a leader in the last month with this team getting ready for this game with you now definitely playing? It seems like your name is coming up a lot more as being a leader.
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: I try to be the best leader I can. At the end of the day, I’m not perfect, though. I still make mistakes. There are still things I can get better at. I try to be there for my team the best as I can be.
Q. Watching you run around this morning, you look extremely fast, ready to go. Are you 100%? How do you feel physically?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: Yeah, yeah, I will feel good. I feel good. It’s a blessing to be healed up.
Q. When you look at the idea that maybe you guys haven’t reached the goal the junior class thought you might, how much is that a driving factor for you to not only play in this game but maybe come back for another year?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: I feel like just as a team, yeah, we haven’t beat the team up north (Michigan); haven’t won a Big Ten championship; haven’t won a natty. When I leave here, that’s not the thing I will remember. Even if we did win a natty every year, we beat the team up north, we won Big Ten championships, the thing I will remember the most is how God has grown through this team. That’s the thing. That’s the number one thing I will remember the most.
Q. The draft projection, more than anything, will it drive your decision in the final analysis?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: Not really. I have my own opinion on where I should be. But at the end of the day, I don’t know what’s best for me, like I said. I just want to go where God leads me. That’s all that matters.
Q. When you are approaching this game, committed to play it, I assume you want a full workload. You can’t take every carry, every snap. Where has Dallan [Hayden] been taking some strides?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: He has taken some steps he has needed to make. Dallan will continue to get better and better. He will do great things.
Q. Was there a point in the last month you decided you felt like, “I decided to play in this game for sure”?
RB TREVEYON HENDERSON: I was kind of ‚Äì a.er the team up north (Michigan) game, I kind of ‚Äì that’s when I really had to think, because I wasn’t expec.ng to lose to the team up north. It got on me kind of fast. I was feeling all this pressure at first. Then I just started praying, started seeking God, man. I gave it to him. He removed all those burdens. I have just been feeling great, full of joy.
