Coach, certainly you and your team are familiar with Dallas. But this is only the third time Oklahoma has been in the Cotton Bowl. So what does it mean for Oklahoma to come to a traditional bowl game like the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic?

It means a lot. Like you said, it’s a little strange that with the successful history of this game and our program that we have only been able to come down a few times. It means a lot.

I think our staff, our players are all very aware of the history of this game, what it means. Honored to have the opportunity to be here and to do it so close to home.

You were just here not so long ago winning a Big 12 championship. Especially after the way the team rallied down the stretch, what would it mean to be able to culminate this season with a win in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic?

It would mean a lot. We’ve had to fight back in so many ways. I think this year we will look back when it’s all done and remember it in a different way than any other year that we’ve all coached, played.

I think just the way this team has come together, the way we’ve played here at the end, have a chance to play a great Florida game in a great bowl game like the Cotton Bowl, to have that memory of winning it would be very fitting for this team.

You’ve played a lot of great teams thus far. You’ve got a great Florida team across from you tomorrow night. Talk about when you look at Florida, what kind of challenge that presents your ball game.

A lot of challenges. They’ve been one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Their quarterback (Kyle Trask) has played at as high a level as anybody this year. That’s always a start for a great team. They’re very, very talented across the board. Very talented defensively. Great coaching staff. So they challenge you in every way possible.
