Replacing Matt Corral, and on the quarterback competition:

It’s been really cool to see. They competed really well with each other ‚Äì really helped each other grow. Done things the right way. They have competed and at the same time, they have kept their relationship on and off the field, and it’s been really fun to see them both get better and keep the same level of friendship off the field.

On the offensive line continuity:

We have a lot of guys coming back. I think we returned four starters. Mason’s coming in as well, and he’s really fitting in like a glove with us. He’s done a really great job at meshing in with us. There are lots of new guys, but we are an older group now and playing for a couple of years now. It’s now our time to lead the team.’

On the NIL rules and thoughts on changing the game: 

A little bit. It is kind of expected for that to happen. You kind of see it all over. Overall, I think it is a good thing for all student-athletes.

On playing for Head Coach Lane Kiffin:

Yeah, there is a lot of swag about him. I think the biggest thing is he allows us to be ourselves. I really appreciate that. He kind of likes to be a player of the team, which is all I really ask for. There’s a lot of different personalities, but, at the end of the day, a lot of the players really appreciate that because we all can act like ourselves.
