What it means to be a game captain:

For me personally, it shows that I’m ready for everyone else, because everybody before a game has nerves. The less people that are nervous, it helps the locker room as a whole out a lot.

On the mindset playing the offensive line and playing for offensive line coach Greg Adkins:

Being an offensive lineman, people only recognize the bad and not so much the good. You have to be willing to take on that role. Playing for Coach Adkins, just the different techniques he’s taught us, it’s been going really well playing for him.

On building off last year and leaving the program in a better place after this year:

You remember the good and the bad from last year, but like you said, it was last year and we can do better. In order to do that, we have to put last year to the side and focus on this upcoming year.

On Head Coach Shane Beamer being a relatable head coach:

He gives us the ability to be ourselves, and he’s himself around us. We’re all more comfortable and freer when we’re out there playing.
