Tennessee Volunteers College Football Media Day Quote, 07/21/2022

Cedric Tillman

On team goals heading into the 2022 season:

We heard the noise a little bit, and we want to go out there and play hard. This year, we plan on winning more games and competing each week.

On what needs to be done in order to be a better player this year:

Becoming a complete overall receiver. Working on the little things that people may not notice from watching on the TV. For the other receivers on the team, they are taking the same approach and working on their hands and their running. I want to see the receivers working hard and representing the team well this year.

On his decision to return to Tennessee for another season:

There was still more to prove on the field. There are some things that I need to work on. I’m really excited about the season. We have a lot of guys coming back, and I feel like we have some stuff to prove this year.

On the team bonding trip this year:

It’s team chemistry. That’s what it’s all about. Disappearing from football for a couple of days and being like brothers. Now it’s time to work. The fun is out of the way.

On his work during the offseason:

Becoming better off the line and a better overall receiver. I don’t want to have any weaknesses in my game. I don’t want any coaches being like. ‚ÄòThis is how we stop him.’ Being the best I can be.

On the defense and what those players mean to the team:

Those two [Trevon Flowers and Jaylen McCollough] are the defensive leaders of the team. They are very vocal. The offense follows those guys too. Those guys are great leaders for us, and I’m excited for what they will do this year.
