Texas Longhorns College Football Pregame Quote, 01/08/2025

Opponent: Ohio State Buckeyes
Quintrevion Wisner

Q. Early on in your college career, did you envision yourself in the spot, a game away from the National Championship game? Was it before you got to Desoto [High School]? Once you transferred to Desoto?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: Our vision, I guess, after coming off last year’s season, I knew that being here playing at the university, we were definitely going to take off.

Q. Was there a game or moment early in this season that you guys got through that kind of helped you here later in the season?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: Well, not really. I don’t think no games could prepare us for this, because all games are the same for us. As long as we come out and we do the things that we were coached to do. No game is too big. No game is too small. Coming in with that mindset.

It’s not really a game that could prepare us for this. This is what we prepare ourselves for. We work in the summer, the winter, and the fall.

Q. There’s so much talk about the physical toll of a long season, but how excited are you for the opportunity in front of you, to be in the Final Four?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: I’m very excited. Once again, as I mentioned, this is something that doesn’t happen for everyone. For us, it’s a blessing to be on a stage like this and perform, how we know we can perform. it’s very exciting.

Q. What are you proudest of personally this season that you’ve been able to accomplish?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: That I’m proud of? You know, just growing as a player, not just a running back, but as a player, as a friend, as a person.

I’ve definitely grown through this season maturity wise, just learning things that I didn’t really understand last season, as far as football and as far as life. That’s the most thing.

Q. Did you and Jaydon [Blue] exit the Arizona State game with a chip on your shoulders? Are you upset with the personal performance, but satisfied with the fact that you won? How do you guys kind of reflect on that performance and get ready for the next?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: I wouldn’t say it gave us a chip on our shoulder because we know our goals when we come out. Even when we don’t perform, we know that there’s always room for us to improve.

So, you know, whenever we don’t perform, we just know, all right, now we got to get back, get right, get back in the lab, fix things that we messed up on and just affect the next game how we didn’t affect this one.

Q. All this talk of DFW being home. Do you consider Waco to be a home as well? And what do you take now from your time at [Waco] Connally [High School]?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: Definitely consider Waco to be home, too. My time at Connally, it showed me you definitely need to enjoy the things that you have around. I was at Connally for two years. My time there, I feel like it could have been better.

Q. A few weeks ago, Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) was talking about your toughness. Have you always considered yourself to be a tough football player, even at [Waco] Connally [High School]?

RB QUINTREVION WISNER: Yeah, even at Connally, a small program. Things were a lot harder to learn. A lot harder to work out. You really don’t have the resources that you have at a higher school, a bigger school , like DeSoto [High School]. But Connally definitely taught me how to build yourself up and just go with the things you have.
