FAU Week ‚Äì huge week ‚Äì another tough conference opponent. I know they’re going to be fired up and ready to play us. It’s the time of year where down the stretch, you know, it’s a playoff mentality. I know our guys will be fired up as well, and just looking forward to coming back home and being in front of our home crowd and hopefully our fans will show up. I know they always do a great job of supporting us, but really need them this week, and just looking forward to a great game this week.

On WR Jerreth Sterns being named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award:

Just really proud of Jerreth Sterns. That’s a great honor, and he is really starting to reap the benefits of all the time and effort that he has put in. He’s done so much for us this season and I am going to enjoy watching all of these games down the stretch to see where he finishes statistically. He still has several games to go and he is putting together an unbelievable season, so just really proud of him and his focus and his work ethic and his attitude every week -those guys are hard to find. You can check every box with him. If you talk to Jerreth, I’m sure he’s happy to get that honor, but that’s not on his mind ‚Äì it is trying to go win a championship. We always say here, ‘team success equals individual success,’ and I am a firm believer in that and as long as we keep having team success, it is going to be really neat to see all of these awards.

On K Cory Munson making tackles on special teams:

I mean he’s our best coverage guy on the kickoff. I give our kickoff cover team a hard time, I said, ‘not only does he have to kick the ball, he outruns everybody, he is the first one down there and he makes the tackle.’ So, it’s good for our kick coverage team because you kind of have to motivate them to say like, ‘we can’t let the kicker outdo us here.’ Cory last week had a little bit of an injury, not anything that kept him from out of the game obviously, but he got a lot of rest. So, we were joking with him, ‘man we just need to rest you every week because come game time you were ferocious.’ He definitely had a great game, that was really cool to see.
