Cheez-It Bowl Day for Kids at Fun Spot America

On playing his final game at Iowa State:

It’s bittersweet you know, it’s been a big part of my life being here. But I think, you know, some of us are just ready for that next step, whatever their next step is, whichever direction you go. But I think everybody’s mature enough to take that next step and just ready to go blossom into the men that, you know, we want to become.

On what it will take to feel good at the end of the game:

Knowing that we prepared the best that we could, and that we played our brand of football, we play our brand of football, you know, we’re pretty much unbeatable. And so, um, you know, if we go out there and play our play the way that we should, and we prepare the way that we should, and we can lay our head on the pillow at the end of the night.

On playing high-profile bowl opponents:

I think it’s just telling for where this where this program is going the trajectory that we’re going. You know, the last few years has just been trending in the right direction. And like you said, Oregon, Notre Dame Clemson like to have those teams on the schedule and be able to play those teams and competitive games. That’s all you could ask for.

On Clemson’s offense:

They do a little bit of everything. They’re really good with the run game, especially with the quarterback. Sometimes they do a little tempo here and there. So, it’s a mixed bag of a little bit of everything that we’ve seen ‚Äî but I think their game plan does kind of drastically change based on the opponent. So, like I said, you’ve got to take what you see on film, but know that they’re going to try to attack your weaknesses.
