COACH ADAMS: When you get to bowl prep, it’s like another spring ball, right? You get 13, 15 practices. And then it allows the Jurrions [Dickey] and the Kylers [Kasper] to take a bunch of reps and develop. They played for us a little bit this year.

The best development is playing. But they’re ready. They’re prepared and they’re doing a good job of practicing. Attacking it. Treating it like a game. Doing a good job in meetings. They’ll be ready by the time the ball is kicked off.

Q. On Thursday, the defense spoke, and reporters were asking who are the younger guys that stand out. All the defensive guys said Jurrion Dickey.

COACH ADAMS: I don’t know if it’s for his play or just being Jurrion. No, he is growing and we walked in when Dan [Lanning] was talking. I echo what Dan said. He got here this summer where you wished he would get here in the spring, but he got here in the summer. He s just developed to the day-to-day life, being a college player, I mean.

But he’s a joy to be around. He’s making plays right now in practice. It’s cool to see that his teammates are recognizing that.
