Anyone you compare Caleb Williams to?

S LARRY BROOKS: Probably not. I mean, like, he’s the Heisman Trophy winner. I’ve never played against a Heisman Trophy winner before. But no, he’s a great quarterback. He uses his legs. Always looking downfield to throw the field. He can make a throw under the sun. So looking forward to playing against him. Hopefully getting an interception.

How does it feel to be a senior playing a New Year’s Six bowl close to home?

S LARRY BROOKS: It feels great. Getting all my family to come down. College football game, and my family can watch me play. Friends from high school, everybody coming. So it’s amazing.

How many family members do you expect? How many people do you think might be here watching you play?

S LARRY BROOKS: I’m going to say around 20, 25.

Have you played here before? Did you play a high school game here or anything?

S LARRY BROOKS: Yes, sir, I played a state championship here. And I played in the Coke play‚Äëoff games (Coca‚ÄëCola National Championship) here. Yeah.

What did you tell the guys about playing in the stadium? I know you practice in the [Caesars] Superdome and stuff, but what did you tell them about here (AT&T Stadium)?

S LARRY BROOKS: The biggest thing they wanted to know was the jumbotron. Yeah, I’ve been to a couple of games here. You don’t even watch the field. The thing is so big, you just look at the jumbotron. I was like, man, it’s going to be a big thing above us. That’s really it. Where we sit, we’re actually looking into it.

You attended high school in Kennedale. How does it feel to be playing so close to home?

S LARRY BROOKS: Man, like I said, everything is coming full‚Äëcircle. It’s fun just doing it with these guys I’ve been with for five years in my hometown. Just a fun experience to be here.

Talk about being with this group for five years. Obviously, there have been ups and downs. Talk about the experience of just being part of Tulane at this point in time?

S LARRY BROOKS: It’s been great. Even the downs and now coming up. That’s what feels so good. The downs and coming up my senior year. And it just makes it that much better.

With Caleb Williams’ elusiveness, is it where, when you’re watching film, you say, oh, we could get him down, maybe that mentality?

S LARRY BROOKS: He’s a good player. You’ve got to be ready, you know what I’m saying.
