Tulane Green Wave College Football Pregame Quote, 12/30/2022

Opponent: USC Trojans
Patrick Jenkins

How much of a difference does it make if Caleb Williams plays or not for USC?

DL PATRICK JENKINS: It doesn’t make a bit of a difference. Just listen to our coaches and game plan and go out and play hard.

How does it feel to be back in this area?

DL PATRICK JENKINS: It feels great. I’d been at TCU for two years and going back home to Tulane and coming here to the Cotton Bowl, it’s an amazing experience.

You would have been in a New Year’s Six game no matter what.

DL PATRICK JENKINS: Yes, sir.

You weren’t part of the 2‚Äë10 last year. What have you seen in the team and how it’s come together and gotten things done?

DL PATRICK JENKINS: I feel like the culture, we are a brotherhood. Everybody relies on one another. It’s like a brotherhood. We all look after each other and we stay together. So I feel like that plays a big part.

So was it easy to go home?

DL PATRICK JENKINS: Yes, sir. It was very easy to go home.

When you look at this group ‚Äë‚Äë people on the outside don’t really know. How would you describe this defense?

DL PATRICK JENKINS: Man, a hard‚Äëworking team. In the off‚Äëseason, we all came and worked hard on our own, without the coaches being here. We have one goal in mind, the championship, and we worked hard to get there.

Being in the Big 12, you knew about Kansas State. How big was that game? You guys held Deuce [Vaughn] and that group of seven?

DL PATRICK JENKINS: That game was a very physical game. We knew if we played good in that game, the rest of the season was going to go well. I felt like it was. Personally, I’d never beat them, so I really wanted to beat them. So it felt good.
